Superstar Krishna is no more. The death of the king of the silver screen has filled the Telugu society with grief. Superstar Krishna passed away at Continental Hospital at 4 am. Tollywood is saddened by Krishna’s death. Yesterday, Krishna was admitted to Continental Hospital due to cardiac arrest. He was unconscious when he was admitted to the hospital. The doctors diagnosed it as multi-organ failure and monitored the condition from time to time. The doctors, who had earlier revealed that they would be able to say anything only after 48 hours, announced that Krishna had passed away early this morning. Krishna’s mortal remains will be moved to his residence in Nanak Ramguda for public viewing. Celebrities are paying homage to Krishna. Tollywood giants are paying tearful tributes to Krishna’s body. Deepest sympathy to the family members.

Krishna’s full name is Ghattamaneni Sivaramakrishnamurthy. Born on 31 May 1942 in Burripalem, Guntur district. Krishna is one of the leading actors who has greatly influenced the Telugu film world. The rest of the world is paying tributes to Dhruva star Krishna who went beyond arguments and controversies. Krishna impressed with Gudhachari 116, the first James Bond movie in Telugu. The first cowboy movie was Mosagallu Ku Mosagagadu, the first fullscope movie was Alluri Sitaramaraju and the first 70mm movie was Simhasanam. Krishna acted in more than 340 movies.

Krishna established the Padmalaya production company in 1970. Superstar has made 16 films as a director. Krishna has acted in many super hit movies like Pandanti Kapuram, Gudhusai Mandu, Padi Pantalu, Eenadu and Agniparvatham. He got special recognition by acting in 300 movies at the rate of 19 per year. Krishna used to make movies fast in three shifts. Krishna has a record 2500 fan communities. Krishna received Filmfare South Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. NTR National Award in 2003, Doctorate from Andhra University in 2000. Krishna was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2009. Krishna won as MP from Eluru in 1989.

Krishna also excelled as a producer. Not only in Telugu but also in Hindi, Tamil and Kannada, many films were made under the banner of Padmalaya. Hindi blockbusters like Himmatwala, Pathala Bhairavi and Manali further boosted Padmalaya’s image. Krishna acted as a presenter for many films under the Vijaya Krishna banner under the direction of Satimani Vijaya Nirmala. Behind his success is the support of his family. His brothers Hanumantha Rao and Adiseshagiri Rao worked hard for the Padmalaya banner.
