Renowned music director A.R. Rahman has made controversial comments about films being nominated for Oscars from India. He criticized that they are not able to see the awards due to sending unqualified films to the Oscars. A.R.Rahman had a discussion with music legend L.Subrahmanyam on his YouTube channel. In this program, he revealed interesting things about his music career. In this context, Rahman expressed his displeasure with India’s policy of selecting films for Oscar nominations.
‘Many films from India are coming back from the Oscar ring. This is happening due to selection of unqualified films. In this matter, we cannot do anything but watch.’ It is known that in the recently announced Oscar awards, along with the song ‘Natu Natu’, the film ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ won the Oscar awards from India and created a sensation. In this context, it is said that Rahman made these comments in the sense that it would be better if the film was officially nominated for Oscar from India in support of ‘RRR’. AR Rahman won two Oscars for the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ in 2009.
