CPI Narayana regrets his comments on Chiranjeevi

Hyderabad: CPI National Secretary Narayana said that his comments against actor Chiranjeevi should be considered as a language error. He said that he regretted this matter. Speaking at a press conference held in Vijayawada on Wednesday, Narayana said, ‘Some Chiranjeevi fans and leaders of Kapu Mahanadu were hurt by my comments, while others were enraged.

I can understand their pain. Criticism and counter-criticism are natural when you are in politics. Without them there is no politics. Accordingly, the words I have spoken are true. Speaking about Chiranjeevi beyond political language should be considered a linguistic error. That matter should be left here,’ said Narayana. Narayana made several comments on inviting Chiranjeevi to the idol unveiling ceremony of Alluri Sitaramaraj held in Bhimavaram of West Godavari district recently.

There was strong opposition from Chiranjeevi’s fans and Jana Sainiks. In response to this, Narayana expressed regret for his comments. Meanwhile, Narayana’s visit to the flood-affected areas of Konaseema districts was blocked at every step by Chiranjeevi’s fans and public servants. He retracted his comments against Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan and demanded an unconditional apology.
