What did the company’s lawyer say?
Music label MRT’s counsel Narasimhan Sampath said the complaint pertains only to illegal fraud and illegal actions by the steering committee members. He said that the Congress illegally downloaded the Hindi song of KGF 2, made a video and broadcast it and made it appear as if Congress owned it. He also used the logo of ‘Bharat Jodo’ Yatra in that video and broadcast it through his social media handle.
However, speaking to India Today, MRT’s counsel clarified that the company has complained about copyright only in the exercise of its statutory rights. He said that the company has no intention to malign the image of any political party.
