New Delhi: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, who is accused of money laundering of Rs. 200 crores related to financial criminal Sukesh Chandrasekhar, has been granted some relief by the Delhi court. The recently granted interim bail has been extended till 15th of this month. The temporary bail granted earlier ended on 10th of this month. In this order, the hearing on the bail was held on Thursday.. After hearing the arguments of the actress and the ED, the bench adjourned the verdict.
The ED argued during the hearing on Thursday that Fernandes will leave the country if bail is extended. It is known that the bench questioned why Jacqueline was not arrested while the rest of the accused were in jail. The court questioned the ED, ‘Why pick and choose system is adopted’. However, the agency told the court that it had issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) preventing the actress from leaving the country. Jacqueline asked the court to grant bail as there is no need for custody as the investigation has already been completed and the charge sheet has been filed.
