Amitabh Bachchan | No one should use Big B’s photo, name and voice: Delhi High Court

Amitabh Bachchan | The Delhi High Court has made it clear that no one can use the name, photo and voice of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan without his permission. An interim order has been issued to this effect. The IT department has directed officials and telecom service providers to remove content that violates Amitabh Bachchan’s personal rights.

Bigby has today filed a petition in the Delhi High Court demanding a ban on the use of his name, photo and voice in commercial programs without his permission. Advocate Harish Salve argued on behalf of Amitabh. He told the court that some companies are making T-shirts and putting Amitabh’s photos on them. Others are selling posters. Salve brought to the notice of the court that some of them are simultaneously creating a domain called amitabhbachchan.com and also setting up a website.

Responding to Salve’s arguments, the court said that Amitabh Bachchan’s celebrity status should not be used without his permission. It has been clarified that no person or organization should use photos, name and video. An interim order has been issued to this effect.
