The ministry said that the number of patients undergoing treatment in the country has increased to 68,108, which is 0.16 percent of the total cases. At the same time, the national rate of infection-free patients is 98.63 percent and the Kovid-19 mortality rate is 1.21 percent. There has been an increase of 5,045 in the number of patients undergoing treatment in the last 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health, the daily infection rate is 2.73 percent, while the weekly infection rate is 2.47 percent. So far, a total of 4,26,82,697 people have become infection free in the country.
More than 196 crore doses administered under nationwide vaccination campaign
The ministry said that the number of people who have recovered from the infection has increased to 4,26,90,845. At the same time, under the nationwide vaccination campaign, more than 196 crore doses of anti-Kovid-19 vaccines have been given across the country so far. Significantly, on 7 August 2020, the number of infected people in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020, 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh.
4 crore cases in January this year
The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had exceeded one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it crossed 30 million. On January 26 this year, the cases had crossed four crores. The Health Ministry said that out of those who have died due to corona virus infection so far, more than 70 percent of the patients also had other diseases. The ministry said that its data is being matched with the data of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
