Karthik Gonsalves’ The Elephant Whispers, produced by Guneet Monga, was nominated for Best Documentary Short Film. ‘The Elephant Whispers’ is a Tamil language documentary film which was released on 8 December last year. This is the story of people who have been working with elephants for generations and are very aware of the needs of the forest. The story of the film revolves around an Indian family, who adopt two orphaned elephant cubs in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu. The tremendous bonding of Indian family and orphaned elephants is shown in the film. This film helps to better understand humans’ relationship with elephants and other animals.
